Do I need a passport to take a cruise?
For most closed-loop cruises departing and returning to the same U.S. port, U.S. citizens can travel with an original birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID. However, a valid U.S. passport is strongly recommended—especially for international cruises or in the event of an emergency that requires flying home from a foreign port.
What’s included in the cruise fare?
Most cruise fares include your cabin, meals in the main dining areas, onboard entertainment, pools, and select activities. Specialty dining, drinks, excursions, and gratuities may be extra depending on the cruise line.
When should I book my cruise?
For the best prices and cabin choices, it's best to book 6–12 months in advance. Group cruises and holiday sailings often fill up even earlier.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes—travel insurance is highly recommended. It protects you against trip cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, and lost luggage. Some cruise lines even require it for international sailings. Ask us to include a policy quote during your cruise planning process.
